Installing SQL on a separate machine? What is this, a DIY home server setup? I bet the customer just forgot to turn on the database switch or something.

Check the port numbers, the IP address, and the installation directory - gotta make sure all those settings are on point. Wouldn't want to miss something obvious, right?

I think they should also check that TTrace logging is recording errors properly. It could help identify the issue.
