Oh come on, you guys can't be serious. Obviously the answer is C, 1 host. That way the customer saves the most money! What could go wrong with a single-host vSAN cluster, right? *laughs sarcastically*

Hmm, I'm not so sure. If the customer is really on a tight budget, maybe they'd be willing to sacrifice some redundancy and go with just 2 hosts. Probably not the recommended setup, but might work in a pinch.
