An architect is reviewing a vSAN cluster that has an unbalanced cluster configuration.

Which behavior will the architect observe?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: D

40GB x 1000VMs = 40 000 GB total max expected usage 40 000GB / 5 node cluster = 8000 GB per node cache should be 10% so 800GB SSD is needed. However this question is stupid from real life perspective. one host can run up to 200 VMs - so what with MM, any failure ? Cluster should be sized with 6 ESXi hosts minumim

Consistent maintenance procedures? Sounds like a boring day at the office. I'm going with B to shake things up a bit.

I would rather have faster rebuild times, but I see your point about choosing B.

Yeah, I agree. Reduced predictability of storage performance is definitely a sign of an unbalanced cluster.

Faster rebuild times? That's like a sprinter on Red Bull. I'm not sure I buy it, but D is my answer.

Reduced deduplication? That's a bummer. I wonder if the cluster is going to start sounding like a broken record player. I'll go with C.

Ooh, I wonder if the architect is going to see some funky disco ball-like effects with the storage performance. B is my pick!

Hmm, an unbalanced vSAN cluster? I bet the architect is in for a wild ride. 'Reduced predictability of storage performance' sounds like the way to go here.

But wouldn't faster rebuild times also be a potential behavior the architect might observe?

I agree with Tomas. An unbalanced cluster configuration can definitely lead to reduced predictability.
