I'm not sure about PMEM, isn't that more for persistent memory? I'd go with USB and SATADOM - those are pretty standard boot devices for enterprise-grade servers.

I think the recommended boot devices are definitely SD and SATADOM. Those seem like the most reliable options for a vSAN cluster with high memory hosts.

I think SD is a reliable option, but I would also consider using Disk Device for the vSAN cluster.
