An administrator needs to dynamically add VMware VMs that have a custom application installed to a backup job. How can this job be created?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

Veeam Backup & Replication allows you to set up failover plans to control the order in which VMs are started during a failover. By creating a failover plan, you can specify that the database servers boot before the application servers. This is achieved by setting up VM dependencies within the failover plan, ensuring that the database servers (which are critical for the application servers to function) are operational before the application servers start. Creating a disaster recovery template (B), creating a replica mapping (C), or initiating a planned failover (D) does not directly address the boot order of the servers during failover.

Option D with the custom CSV file? Really? That sounds like an outdated and labor-intensive approach. Who still uses CSV files these days?

I'm leaning towards Option C. Leveraging vSphere tags to create the backup job sounds like a flexible and scalable solution.

Option B seems the most straightforward approach. Creating a dynamic group of VMs with the relevant tags would make it easy to manage the backup job.

I prefer option A, using the RESTful API to scan the VM inventory seems like a more flexible approach in the long run.

I agree with Telma, option C seems like the most efficient way to dynamically add VMware VMs to a backup job.

I think option C is the best choice because it allows us to create a backup job based on vSphere tags.
