Looks like the Splunk folks want us to have a 'high-availability' cluster, not a 'high-anxiety' cluster. I'm voting for Option B - it's the Goldilocks of Splunk setups, just right!

Yeah, Option B seems to be the recommended minimum components for a high-availability search head cluster.

I agree, Option B seems to be the best choice for a high-availability search head cluster.

Option B sounds good to me too. Three of everything for high availability.

Hold up, are we sure we need a deployer at all? Isn't that just a fancy way of saying 'someone who deploys stuff'? I say we skip the middleman and go with Option C!

But do we really need 3 search heads for high availability?

I think we do need a deployer for managing configurations.

Option A? Really? Two search heads and only one deployer? That's not going to cut it for a high-availability cluster. I'm out.

I'm leaning towards Option D. Two search heads with a dedicated deployer and three indexers seems like it covers all the bases for a high-availability setup.

Option B seems like the way to go. Three search heads for redundancy and three indexers for high availability - sounds like a solid setup to me.
