I'm pretty sure the correct answer is B. False. I mean, why would you want to merge single line events? That just seems counterintuitive. Plus, I heard the guy who wrote this question is a total prankster, so I'm not taking any chances with the other options.
You know, I heard that the developers who came up with these options were all avid knitters in their spare time. Maybe that's why they're suggesting such a wide variety of options for a simple single line event sourcetype. I'm just going to go with my gut and pick B.
Wait, a regex string? That's a bit overkill for a single line event, don't you think? I'm going to have to go with option D and say the newline character is the way to go.
Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. Wouldn't setting it to False be more efficient since we're dealing with single line events? I'm going to go with option B.
I think setting SHOULD_linemerge to True is the most efficient option for single line event sourcetypes. Anything else would just complicate things unnecessarily.
