Option D makes no sense. The SubjectKeyIdentifier has nothing to do with the issuer's public key.

Ha! Option A is just plain silly. Decrypting the private key using the public key? That's not how it works!

Option C) This extension has a hash of the subject's public key. This allows a user to calculate the hash value of the public key on the certificate to look for a match. If the calculation matches the SubjectKeyldentifier value, then the subject can be validated.

Option A) This extension contains a hash of the end entity's private key. This allows a user to decrypt the end entity's private key using the publisheed public key and recalulate the hash value of the private key on the certificate to look for a match. If the calculation matches the SubjectKeyldentifier value, then the end entity can be validated.

I'm not sure about this one. Option B seems a bit strange - why would the subject's private key be published?

Option A is correct. The SubjectKeyldentifier contains a hash of the end entity's private key, not the subject's private key.

I'm leaning towards Option C as well. The hash of the subject's public key is a common way to uniquely identify the certificate holder.

Yes, that's right. It allows a user to calculate the hash value of the public key on the certificate for validation.

I think Option C is correct. The hash of the subject's public key is used to uniquely identify the certificate holder.

Option C seems to be the most logical answer. The SubjectKeyIdentifier should contain a hash of the subject's public key, which can be used to validate the identity of the certificate holder.

Definitely, being able to match the hash value of the public key for validation purposes is key in X.509v3 certificates.

I agree, option C makes the most sense. It's important to have a way to validate the subject's public key.

I agree with you, Ona. Option A seems to be the correct answer because it mentions the end entity's private key.

I think the purpose of the SubjectKeyldentifier is to validate the end entity's private key.
