If I was the one designing this metadata framework, I would have used something like 'SuperSecretUniqueID' as the identifier. Much more fun than 'Code' or 'externalCode'.

Wait, is the answer 'the field' itself? I mean, the question is asking what the field is, not what the answer is. Talk about a tricky one!

This is a tough one, but I'm going to go with A) externalCode. It just sounds like the kind of unique identifier they would use in a metadata framework.

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. Maybe C) externalName is the unique identifier? The name seems like a logical choice.

I agree, externalCode is typically used as the unique identifier for MDF objects.

I think it's actually A) externalCode. That's usually the unique identifier for records.

D) effectiveStartDate sounds like the right choice to me. That's the date when the record becomes effective, right?

D) effectiveStartDate is not the unique identifier, it is the date when the record becomes effective.

Hmm, that makes sense too. But I still think externalCode is the primary identifier.

I disagree, I believe it is effectiveStartDate because it indicates when the record is valid.
