I'm going with option D. Why do extra work by replacing the user in the Project Owner group when you can just update the Contract Owner field? Efficiency is key!

Hmm, I'm not sure about deactivating the original Contract Owner. That seems like it could cause some issues down the line. Better to just replace the user in both places.
