Hmm, a picklist field could also work, but a lookup field seems more flexible and easier to manage in the long run.

I think the lookup field is the best solution here. It will allow CK to easily track and report which CSM is assigned to the Account.

I personally think a Multi-select picklist Meld could also work well for this scenario, as it allows for multiple CSMs to be assigned to an Account.

I agree with Aleta, a Lookup field would allow for easy tracking and reporting of the assigned CSM.
