Actual exam question for Salesforce's Integration Architect exam
Question #: 38

[All Integration Architect Questions]

Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO) uses Salesforce to track leads, opportunities and order details that convert leads to customers. However, Orders are managed by an external (remote) system. Sales representatives want to view and update real-time order information in Salesforce. NTO wants the data to only persist in the external system.

Which type of Integration should an architect recommend to meet this business requirement?

I'm going with Data Synchronization. It's the most straightforward way to keep the data in the external system but make it visible in Salesforce. Plus, it won't blow up the budget like some of these other options.

Data Visualization might be nice, but it doesn't solve the problem of updating real-time order information in Salesforce.

Data Visualization? Are they kidding? That's for pretty charts, not for syncing data between systems. Gotta think a little deeper here.

Batch Processing? What is this, the 90s? We need real-time order updates, not waiting for some daily batch run.

Process Orchestration? Really? That's like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. This is a simple integration need, no need for all that complexity.

I think Process Orchestration could also work to meet the business requirement.

Hmm, Data Synchronization seems like the obvious choice here. We need to keep the order data in the external system, but make it visible in Salesforce. Syncing the data is the way to go.

I agree with Valentine, Data Synchronization would allow real-time updates in Salesforce.
