I bet the answer is 'All of the above' because Lightning Components can do everything, right? Except maybe make coffee, but I wouldn't put it past them.
Lightning Components can actually be used to develop Salesforce integrations as well. They provide a way to create interactive and dynamic user interfaces for various Salesforce functionalities.
