Salesforce Exam Data Architect Topic 2 Question 54 Discussion

Actual exam question for Salesforce's Data Architect exam
Question #: 54
Topic #: 2
[All Data Architect Questions]

Universal Containers (UC) is concerned about the accuracy of their Customer information in Salesforce. They have recently created an enterprise-wide trusted source MDM for Customer data which they have certified to be accurate. UC has over 20 million unique customer records in the trusted source and Salesforce. What should an Architect recommend to ensure the data in Salesforce is identical to the MDM?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

A master-detail field on VTOTime__c to Project__c is the data relationship that the data architect should use to support the requirement when creating the custom VTOTime__c object. A master-detail relationship creates a parent-child relationship between two objects, where the master record controls certain behaviors of the detail record, such as security, ownership, deletion, and roll-up summary fields. By using a master-detail field on VTOTime__c to Project__c, you can ensure that the ability to view or edit the VTOTime__c object is the same as the Project__c record, and that managers can see the total hours volunteered while viewing the Project__c record using a roll-up summary field.

Option B seems like a good approach, but I wonder if an Apex Batch job might be overkill for a 20 million record dataset. Maybe a scheduled data sync job would be more efficient.

Haha, Option A might work if you have a lot of free time and enjoy manual data entry. I'd rather not spend my days staring at Excel sheets and trusted sources.

I'm not sure about option D. Leaving the data in Salesforce alone and assuming it will auto-correct itself over time doesn't sound like a good idea. We need to actively ensure data accuracy.

I agree with Deeanna. Option B seems like the most efficient way to ensure the data in Salesforce is identical to the MDM. It's important to have accurate customer information.

I disagree with Option D. Assuming the data will auto-correct itself is risky and could lead to significant data quality issues. Proactive measures should be taken to ensure the data is accurate.

I think option B is the best choice. Loading the Trusted Source data into Salesforce and running an Apex Batch job sounds like a reliable way to find any differences.

Option C seems like the most efficient and reliable solution. An AppExchange package for Data Quality can automate the process of matching the Salesforce data against the trusted source, saving a lot of manual effort.

I think using an automated tool is the way to go in this situation.
