Ah, the old 'sendmail' issue. I should have known it wouldn't be accessible from the get-go. At least it's not running on some obscure encrypted port, that would be just cruel.

I'm not sure, but I think it could also be C) By default, 'sendmail' access is blocked by TCP Wrappers. That could be causing the communication issue.

I agree with Lajuana, that makes sense. The 'sendmail' service needs to be enabled for it to communicate.

Hmm, I was expecting 'sendmail' to be enabled by default, but I guess that's not the case. I'll have to remember to manually enable it if I need it.

Ah, I see. The default Oracle Solaris 11 installation doesn't include the 'sendmail' software, so that's why I can't communicate with it from my desktop. Good to know!
