I'm not sure why I would want to replace a Switch with a While activity. That seems like a strange choice that wouldn't really capture the same logic.

The BPEL 2.0 specification has a direct replacement for the Switch activity, which is the If activity. Using an If activity is the most straightforward approach to redesigning the BPEL process.

I'm not sure. I think replacing the Switch activity with a For Each activity could also work well.
