After a successful web application login, an Oracle Access Manager (OAM) token is made available to Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS) where the token is asserted for authentication purposes. Wait, am I the only one who's wondering why they're using so many acronyms in this question? Couldn't they have just said 'authentication' and 'authorization' like normal people?

Single sign-on, no doubt. The whole point is to use one set of credentials across multiple systems, right? Gotta love that convenience, even if it does come with a few security risks.

Hah, non-repudiation? As if anyone would try to deny logging in to this app. I'd be more worried about someone hacking my account than having to prove I was there!

I don't know, this seems a bit too complex for my taste. All I want is to log in and get my work done, you know? This whole SAML and JAAS stuff is just overkill.

User3: It's important to have security measures in place, but sometimes it can be overwhelming.

Well, this is clearly a case of identity propagation. The OAM token is used to authenticate the user, and that identity is then passed along to the OWSM agent. Simple as that!

Exactly! The OAM token carries the user's identity throughout the authentication process.

I believe it also involves identity propagation, as the user's identity is propagated throughout the different components for authentication purposes.

I agree with Stephaine, the scenario shows how a user can log in once and access multiple services without needing to log in again.

I think the security feature illustrated in the scenario is single sign-on.
