Oracle Exam 1Z0-133 Topic 13 Question 85 Discussion

Actual exam question for Oracle's 1Z0-133 exam
Question #: 85
Topic #: 13
[All 1Z0-133 Questions]

You want to configure WebLogic server transactions to be recoverable when a nonclustered managed server crashes, even if that crash is caused by an unrecoverable hardware failure. You want to run the managed server on different hardware, and have it recover the transactions that were in-progress at the time of the crash.

You also want to use the default store for transaction logs.

Which statement is true?

I'm just picturing someone frantically searching the admin server for the default store files after a crash, like 'Where are they? Where are they?!' Gotta love these exam questions, am I right?

E, huh? That's an interesting one. I guess if you really want to be extra careful, you could make a copy of the default store and move it to the new hardware. But that seems like a lot of work when C is just sitting there, nice and simple.

Haha, B is just a classic 'nope, not possible' answer. I bet the exam writers love throwing those in there to trip people up. But I'm pretty sure C is the winner here - the default store should do the trick.

I've been caught by those 'nope, not possible' answers before. C does seem like the most reasonable choice here.

Yeah, I think C is the safest bet. Default configuration usually works fine for these scenarios.

I agree, B always seems like a trick option. C does seem like the most logical choice.

Hmm, I think D is the way to go. Gotta make sure that default store is on some shared storage so the new hardware can access it. Don't want to be scrambling for transaction logs after a crash, you know?

E) After the crash, obtain a copy of the managed server's default store from the administration server. Move it to the same relative location on the new hardware before starting the managed server there.

Ilene: Yeah, that makes sense. Shared storage is key for easy access to transaction logs.

D) Before the crash, you need to update the path to the default store for the managed server. The path should be to some shared storage location.

Oh, this is tricky. I'm not sure if I'd go with C or D. I mean, the default store for transaction logs should work, but I wonder if we need to do something extra to make it recoverable on different hardware.

Hmm, that's a good point. I see why D could also be the correct answer. It's important to ensure the path is updated beforehand.

I disagree, I believe the correct answer is D. Updating the path to the default store before the crash is crucial for recoverability.

I think the correct answer is E. It makes sense to move the default store to the new hardware before starting the managed server.

That's a good point, Maryann. But I still think E is the best option for ensuring recoverable transactions after a crash.

I disagree, I believe the correct answer is D. Updating the path to the default store before the crash seems more logical to me.

I think the correct answer is E, because it mentions moving the default store to the new hardware.
