The user of an Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR wants to see the effect of changing an import policy immediately. What is the best command to force re-evaluation of the import policy with minimal impact?
This is a classic case of 'the hammer is not the best tool for every job.' Option C is clearly the most surgical and least disruptive way to get the job done.
I'd avoid shutting down the entire router BGP process (Option D). That's just going to cause a lot of disruption. Option C seems like the surgical approach I'd want to take.
Option C looks like the best choice to me. Forcing a soft reset of the BGP neighbor should trigger a re-evaluation of the import policy without completely shutting down the routing protocol.
