I'm not sure about that. I think it adds only an IP address entry for an unknown device on the same subnet, so I would go with option B.

Hmm, B does sound a bit too specific. I mean, an ARP cache is going to have both IP and MAC addresses, not just IP. Gotta go with D on this one.

I'm not sure, but I think option A also makes sense as it maps an unknown IP address to a known hardware address.

D seems like the obvious choice here. ARP is all about resolving MAC addresses from IP addresses, right? I can't imagine why anyone would think it's for ICMP messages or adding IP addresses.
