Actual exam question for Microsoft's MB-700 exam
Question #: 61
Topic #: 3
[All MB-700 Questions]

A company uses Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

The system has a slow response time when sales orders are entered.

You need to identify any blocking SQL statements.

Which Lifecycle Services (LCS) tool should you use?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A, D

AD: Live View -- Shows executing statements and blocking statements.

A: Sample flow

Scenario: Users report slow performance when using the system. One issue could be a blocking statement. Blocking by itself is typical in a healthy system and is only a problem when it becomes excessive or starts degrading business activities.

Go to the Live View tab and check if there are any blocking statements. If there is a blocking statement, copy the blocking query ID.

Open the Queries tab and select the Current Blocking Tree query. This will return the root blocker that is blocking the SQL operation.

Etc.

Ah, the age-old question of 'which tool should I use to fix my slow database?' I say we just throw the whole system out and start over. Problem solved!

The Performance SDK? That's like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. I'd go with the SQL Insights tools instead. They're designed specifically for this kind of problem.

Yeah, the Performance SDK might be too heavy-handed for just identifying blocking SQL statements.

I agree with Nickolas, SQL Insights - Live View can help us pinpoint the issue with slow response time.

I'm not sure about the Telemetry data monitoring option. Isn't that more for general system health monitoring rather than specific performance issues?

A: I think you're right. Telemetry data monitoring might not be the best option for identifying blocking SQL statements.

The SQL Insights - Index Analysis tool could also be useful here. It can help you identify any index-related performance issues that might be causing the slow response time.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. I think the SQL Insights - Live View tool would be the best option to identify any blocking SQL statements. It gives you a real-time view of the database activity, right?
