I think the pilot project duration of one month was fine. They got some good results, even if not the full target. Now they can use that as a baseline to plan the next phase more realistically.

B: The target defined for the business case seems difficult to hit -- it should be realistic.

Haha, 'too accurate' as a critique? Sounds like someone's trying to make excuses for missing their targets. If you can't measure it, how do you know you achieved it?

I agree, the target of 90% reduction in execution time for 100% of the tests seems overly ambitious. They should have set a more achievable goal, like 70-80% reduction for the initial 40-50% automation.

Looks like the pilot project was a partial success. 40% automation with 60% reduction in execution time is not bad, but still far from the target. Definitely need to revisit the business case and make it more realistic.

But maybe the target defined for the business case was too accurate. It should be more flexible.

I agree with Lucy. The success factors should be achieved before ending the project.
