As an avid fan of acronyms and abbreviations, I fully support this feature. The more letters we can cram into a single word, the better. It's like a secret code that only the workflow wizards can decipher.
Ah, the age-old question of 'why do we need to abbreviate things?' I bet the developers just wanted to make their lives easier and force us to memorize a bunch of random letters instead.
I'm guessing it's to make the workflow process more readable and easier to understand at a glance. Who wants to see a long, wordy process type when a simple abbreviation will do?
