I'm not sure about option B, doesn't the NameNode just coordinate the file locations? Seems like an unnecessary step.

Option A seems logical, as it makes sense for the client to download from the nearest DataNode to optimize performance.

I'm not sure, but I think the answer is C because it seems logical for the client to connect to the node with the replica if there's a failure.
