Client server resources are limited but there is sufficient network bandwidth. What kind of deduplication strategy should be used if the client data needs to be backed up to the physical tape?
I agree with Shawnta. Target-side deduplication seems like the best choice here. Why would we want to delete the backup software? That doesn't make much sense.
I'm not sure about that. Wouldn't target-side deduplication be better in this scenario? That way, the backup software can handle the deduplication process and we don't have to worry about overloading the client.
Hmm, I think option A is the way to go. Deduplicating on the client-side should help conserve network bandwidth, which is crucial when the resources are limited.
