Another possibility could be that the RP is statically configured on the multicast network, while the RTA router is not statically configured with the RP.

That could definitely be a reason. If the RP elected by RTA is not RTB, then RIB won't be able to see the multicast source.

I agree with you, Yvonne. If RTB fails the RPF check of the source, RIB won't be able to see the multicast source.

I think the reason why RIB cannot see the multicast source is because there is no unicast route from RTB to RTA.

It could be a possibility. If RTA and RTB are not correctly synchronized in terms of RP, it could lead to issues with multicast routing.
