I dunno, the packets captured on the MC control plane destined to UDP 1812 could give you some pretty juicy details. You might find something the CPPM event logs are missing.

The RADIUS events within the CPPM Event Viewer seem like the obvious choice here. That's where I'd start looking for more details on the authentication failure.
