Option C, the router, seems like the most likely culprit. Probably needs a firmware update or some reconfiguration. I wonder if the IT team is using duct tape and chewing gum to keep the network running.

I'm going with option B. If the IP packet filter is not configured properly, it could be blocking the email traffic. Sounds like a classic case of over-zealous network security.

Hmm, if the computer can access the internet but not email services, it sounds like a problem with the proxy server. Gotta love those IT professionals and their love for creating more problems than they solve.
