Good point, Kenny. I think you're right, FortiWeb would need to use its own cert when acting as a client to the backend servers. So A) is also a correct answer.

What about A) Secondary HTTPS connection to server where FortiWeb acts as a client? Wouldn't FortiWeb need to use its own cert there too, when connecting to the backend servers?

I agree with Billy. FortiWeb acts as a reverse proxy for client connections, so it would need to have its own SSL/TLS certificates to encrypt that traffic. And for accessing the GUI, FortiWeb would need to present its own cert to the admin's browser.
