A and C sound like the way to go. Redirecting to a backup server is a smart move, and only checking for changes makes sense. Hey, at least it's not a trick question about configuring a VPN on a microwave oven!

I think B and C are the correct answers. Restoring from a RAM copy is a great way to quickly recover from defacement, and only checking for changes is more efficient than downloading the whole site every time.
