Question #: 26
Topic #: 2
[All NSE6_FAC-6.4 Questions]

An administrator is integrating FortiAuthenticator with an existing RADIUS server with the intent of eventually replacing the RADIUS server with FortiAuthenticator.

How can FortiAuthenticator help facilitate this process?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B

To deploy three FortiAuthenticator devices to provide active-passive HA at headquarters, with geographically distributed load balancing, the role settings would be:

One standalone primary, which acts as the master device for HA and load balancing

One cluster member, which acts as the backup device for HA and load balancing

One load balancer, which acts as a remote device that forwards authentication requests to the primary or cluster member device

I'm just waiting for the option 'Call the IT department and beg them to handle this integration for you.'

A is a good idea, but I'm not sure it's the best option here. Configuring the RADIUS accounting proxy might help, but it doesn't address the eventual replacement of the RADIUS server.

I agree, importing the RADIUS user records seems like the best option for eventual replacement

C is a bit of a head-scratcher. Learning mode in the RADIUS server configuration? That sounds more like a function for a student taking a test, not an enterprise integration solution.

B seems like an interesting option, but I'm not sure if the RADIUS server can make REST API calls. Wouldn't that be more of a FortiAuthenticator feature?

I believe enabling learning mode in the RADIUS server configuration could also be helpful in this process.

I think option D is the correct answer. Importing the RADIUS user records into FortiAuthenticator would help facilitate the integration process by transferring the existing user data.
