Mf. Moore is poor at articulating his thoughts and opinions. Sometimes his responses to your questions do NOT make total sense or they are not well organized, how should you deal with the student's responses in the above situation?
I bet Mr. Moore is a hoot at parties. Imagine trying to get a clear answer out of him when he's had a few too many! 'Hey, how was your weekend?' 'Uh, well, you know, it was... and then the thing happened, and...' Good luck with that, teach!
Option B is just not fair. If the guy is struggling to articulate himself, shutting him down completely is not going to help. We should be trying to support him, not ignore him.
I'm leaning towards Option C - asking him only open-ended questions. That way, he doesn't have to worry about giving a detailed, well-organized response. He can just share his thoughts more naturally.
Hmm, I don't know. Asking another student to rephrase his answer seems a bit risky to me. That could end up embarrassing him even more. I'd go with Option D - try to rephrase his answer yourself and see if you can get a better understanding of what he's trying to say.
This is a tricky one. I think the best approach is to try to get a clearer picture of what Mr. Moore is saying and rephrase his answer. That way, we can make sure we understand him correctly without putting him on the spot.
