A cloud engineer needs to determine a scaling approach for a payroll-processing solution that runs on a biweekly basis. Given the complexity of the process, the deployment to each

new VM takes about 25 minutes to get ready. Which of the following would be the best strategy?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A

Based on the SLA requirements and the information provided in the diagram:

For the Hypervisor:

Slot A fiber channel card:

Port 1 link speed should be set to 16 Gbps since it's connected to Fabric switch A which supports 16 Gbps.

Port 2 link speed should be set to 8 Gbps because it's connected to Fabric switch B which supports up to 8 Gbps.

Slot B fiber channel card:

Port 1 link speed should be set to 16 Gbps since it's connected to Fabric switch A which supports 16 Gbps.

Port 2 link speed should be set to 8 Gbps because it's connected to Fabric switch B which supports up to 8 Gbps.

I'm going with option A, Horizontal. If each deployment takes 25 minutes, we should spin up more VMs to handle the load, rather than waiting for a scheduled event.

User 3: Horizontal scaling is the way to go, it will help us handle the biweekly payroll processing smoothly.

Hmm, I'm not sure. The question mentions the complexity of the process, so maybe a Trending approach (option C) would be better to scale up and down as needed.

I agree, a Horizontal approach (option A) would allow for adding more VMs to handle the workload efficiently.

I think a Horizontal approach (option A) would be best to handle the scaling of the payroll-processing solution.

I disagree. I think Scheduled scaling would be better as it can be planned in advance to handle the biweekly processing.

I think the best strategy here is option B, Scheduled. The payroll processing is a recurring event, so we should scale up the resources before the biweekly runs.

It's important to plan ahead and have the resources ready before the payroll processing to avoid any delays or issues.

Trending and Event strategies may not be suitable as they are more reactive approaches rather than proactive like Scheduled.

Horizontal scaling might not be efficient for this specific case since the process is not constantly changing in demand.
