I'm just going to remember that the IP address in the command is used to specify the remote peer. That way, I won't have to worry about any 'crypto validation authorities' or other cryptic terms. Option B is the one.

User2: Yeah, changing it to 1.2.3.4 would mean only allowing the remote connection from that IP.

Wait, so the IP address isn't just there for show? I've been configuring my routers all wrong! Well, at least I know the right answer now. Option B it is.

Haha, I bet the person who wrote this question was having a laugh at our expense. 'Crypto validation authority'? Really? Option B is clearly the way to go here.

Hmm, I thought the IP address was just a placeholder or something. Guess I need to brush up on my IKEv1 knowledge. At least I now know the right answer is B.

The IP address in the command is used to specify the remote peer's IP address that the pre-shared key will be associated with. Changing it to 1.2.3.4 will limit the connection to only that IP address, so option B is correct.

A) The key server that is managing the keys for the connection will be at 1.2.3.4

I'm not sure about that. Maybe changing the IP address could affect the crypto validation authority instead.

I agree with Juan. It makes sense that the key server managing the keys would be at that specific IP.

I think changing the IP address to 1.2.3.4 will restrict the remote connection to only that IP.
