Cisco Exam 300-815 Topic 14 Question 70 Discussion

Actual exam question for Cisco's 300-815 exam
Question #: 70
Topic #: 14
[All 300-815 Questions]

Cisco SIP IP telephony is implemented on two floors of your company. Afterward, users report intermittent voice issues in calls established between floors. All calls are established, and sometimes they work well, but sometimes there is one-way audio or no audio. You determine that there is a firewall between the floors, and the administrator reports that it is allowing SIP signaling and UDP ports from 20000 to 22000 bidirectionally. What are two possible solutions? (Choose two.)

Option D seems a bit too specific. Why not just go with the broader range in option A?

Option D might limit the ports too much, so A and C could be better options.

Option C looks promising, but I'd want to double-check that the firewall can actually handle that larger port range.

Option C sounds like a good idea. It's worth confirming with the firewall admin.

I agree, it's worth checking if the firewall can handle the larger port range before making any changes.

If that doesn't work, we can also consider changing the range of media ports in the SIP profile.

Let's try option C first and see if it solves the issue.

Haha, option E is a classic 'let me fix it by changing something unrelated' move. Classic IT troubleshooting!

I'm not sure why they would want to change the ports to TCP. SIP uses UDP, so option B doesn't seem like the right solution.

I'm not sure about changing the ports to TCP. I think sticking with UDP but changing the range might be the way to go.

Option A seems like the most logical choice. Increasing the media port range in the SIP profile should allow for more flexibility and address the intermittent voice issues.

I agree with Roosevelt. Changing the range of media ports in the SIP profile or asking the firewall admin to change the UDP ports could help.
