Every month for the last three years, a company has recorded the number of new customers for that month. The data have been summarised and grouped as follows:
What is the arithmetic mean of the number of new customers per month?
D) 8.50 has to be the answer. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a good 8.50 new customers per month? That's the kind of growth any business would dream of!
This is a piece of cake! C) 6.38 is clearly the correct answer. Although, I do wonder if the CEO eats cake every month to celebrate the new customers... Mmm, cake.
The correct answer is C) 6.38. I calculated the total number of new customers (77) and divided by the number of months (12) to get the arithmetic mean.
