I bet the assembly workers are having a field day with this question. They're probably sitting there, munching on their factory-made lunches, laughing at the rest of us.

The cook in the factory canteen? Come on, that's just silly. What does that have to do with laptop manufacturing?

The stores assistant? Really? That's a bit of a stretch. I doubt they'd be considered direct labor.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about this one. The factory accountant seems like more of an indirect labor role to me. But I guess I could be wrong.

Well, it's pretty obvious that the assembly workers on the production line are direct labor. They're the ones actually putting the laptops together, so that has to be the right answer.

No, that would be considered indirect labor as they are not directly involved in production.

I'm not sure, but I think C) A stores assistant in the factory store could also be considered direct labor since they are directly involved in the manufacturing process.

I agree with Cyndy. Direct labor involves the actual production of the laptops.
