For TCP connections, when a packet arrives at the Firewall Kernel out of sequence or fragmented, which layer of IPS corrects this to allow for proper inspection?
I'm going with C) Protocol Parsers. Seems like the most logical choice to handle the TCP connection issues. Although, a 'Passive Streaming Library' does sound pretty funny.
D) Context Management sounds like the right answer to me. The IPS needs to maintain context to understand the state of the connection and properly handle these types of packets.
I think the answer is C) Protocol Parsers. The protocol parsers in the IPS layer would be responsible for handling out-of-sequence or fragmented packets to ensure proper inspection.
