Your company has created an application for doing crossword puzzles. The target users are in the age class of over 65 years old. There has already been considerable concentration on creating screens that are easy to navigate and intuitive. It is a primary goal that the software be easy to use. View ability has been implemented with a revolutionary magnification ability based on moving a magnifying glass across the screen. The beta testers have still had problems using the application, particularly when trying to enter the letters into the squares.

I'm going with D) Navigation. Clearly, the magnifying glass gimmick is just a distraction. What these seniors really need is a big 'Enter Letter Here' button. Anything more complicated and they'll be throwing their dentures at the screen.

A) Simplicity is the way to go. These users are probably technologically challenged, so the simpler the better. Just make it idiot-proof and they'll be solving crosswords in no time!

Hmm, C) Intuitiveness is the key here. These older users need an interface that's so intuitive, they don't even have to think about how to use it. Anything less, and they'll be lost.

B) Layout seems like the obvious choice. The magnification feature is useless if the users can't figure out how to use it to see the letters clearly.

I think the answer is D) Navigation. If the beta testers are having trouble entering letters, the issue is likely with the navigation and controls, not the simplicity, layout, or intuitiveness of the app.

Maybe we should focus on improving the controls for entering letters.

I believe Layout should also be targeted for more testing. Maybe the placement of the squares is causing confusion.

I agree with Carisa. If the beta testers are having trouble entering letters, then Simplicity is key.
