The Pattern Detector tool is a tool that scans an existing AEM code base and identifies patterns that are incompatible with AEM as a Cloud Service or newer versions of AEM on-premise. The tool does not check for backward compatibility with older versions of AEM, as this is not a requirement for upgrading. Haha, I love how they try to sugarcoat it with 'In-place Upgrade.' Sounds more like 'In-place Headache' to me. But hey, at least it's not as bad as the time I had to migrate a legacy system from COBOL to Java. Now that was a real nightmare!

Hmm, I think B and E are definitely the disadvantages here. Upgrading between major versions can be a real pain, and the setup and automation required can be a nightmare. I've heard horror stories about content revision history loss, but I guess that's not the case here.
